Today I received a little package from my friend, Kenneth who I became friends with in college. He and I took photography classes together. He's been away for the summer and just as I was beginning to miss him I got such a wonderful surprise in the mail. As always, his package was full of little trinkets and treasures. Everything was wrapped so delicately and opening everything was such fun. Here are some images I took of some of the gifts inside...

bean's back!
Yesterday Bean was returned to us safely. He finally gave himself up to the volunteers who were trying for almost a week to catch him. He's lost some weight but he seems happy to be home again. He's had quite an adventure and we're so happy to have him back! To celebrate his return we treated ourselves to ice cream!

beautiful
I absolutely love these images from design*sponge's post on romantic Irish interiors. I love everything about these. The wallpapers, the quilt, the antique furniture! It all makes me swoon.

my weekend
(Flowers from the farm being sold at the market.)
(Drinks and food with friends.)
(Went to see Chaz's band play at The Upper Deck. Great show.)
Here are some images from my weekend. What you don't see is all the craziness that has been going on around here these past few days. For those of you who don't know, our new dog Bean escaped from the house last Thursday night and has been missing ever since. There's a massive search being held by volunteers and employees of the shelter Bean came from. An airplane searched for him over the marsh and he was even showcased on the local news! Keep your fingers crossed that we find him soon. We sure do miss him and think of him every minute.

scenes from a garden
Here's just a few images from the garden: cherry tomatoes, cucumber, herbs, and artichoke sprouts. I need to get in there and pull some weeds and clean up a bit. We had a massive thunder storm last night so everything is kind of gross and muddy. But everything is coming along so nicely and I think I'll cook our first eggplants for dinner tonight!
Bean
Chaz and I welcomed a new addition to our crew last weekend. He's a 5 year old Shar Pei mix named Bean. His description on the shelter's website was what got me. They described him as 'a super laid back dude' and a 'perfect gentleman'. And he really is! He's awesome and really good with Butter, our Italian Greyhound. Yup, Butter and Bean. We didn't plan that. He was already given the name Bean and it doesn't seem right to change it. We love him already...this is pretty much what he does all day....
